Current Events Presentation Guidelines

Find three relatively current articles on the Information Technology topic of your choice. You may use Web-based or traditional (magazines, newspapers, journals, etc.) sources. You may choose a topic from the Self Assessment form or one in which you have interest.

Produce an Executive Summary of (no less than) three or (no more than) four pages. The summary should be double-spaced with one-inch margins, Times New Roman or Arial font, 11 or 12 point font size, with one staple for binding. Do not include a cover page--place your name and date at the very beginning of the summary under an appropriate title. List your three sources at the end of your summary. It is not necessary to attach the articles.

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation consisting of 3-5 slides (no less or no more). Utilize the presentation techniques as described in Looking Good in Presentations (Joss). Include graphics to enhance your audience's understanding of the topic.

Attach and Email your presentation to your Yahoo! account so that you can download and open it for the presentation.  Alternatively, bring your presentation to class on a floppy diskette.

Deliver a five minute oral presentation on the date for which you are assigned. You will have a one minute grace period either way. This means that you will lose points if your presentation is shorter than four minutes or longer than six minutes. You will be judged on organization, content, professional manner, and audiovisual quality & creativity.
