| Midterm Exam Information Exam Date: Tuesday, August 10, 6:30 - 9:30 PM. The Midterm Exam will be divided into two parts: Part 1: Essay Questions, in-class closed book, 100 points There will be 5-8 essay questions worth 10-20 points each. Questions will be derived from the chapters covered in the Joss and Young books (see Syllabus Class Schedule, classes 2-6). Use the Young Chapter Summaries as guidance for your studying and preparation. Part 2: Lab Exercises, Timonium lab, open-book/notes/computer, 150 points There will be various exercises to be performed using a computer in the lab. Exercises will be derived from major concepts that have been discussed, demonstrated, and/or performed in class. Additionally, some exercises may be of a learning nature. That is, new concepts or procedures may be introduced and then you will complete related exercises. You are to work independently (no talking, looking at others work, or online collaboration) and must follow the instructions precisely. Midterm Exam Schedule:
Note: In the unlikely event that the computers in the lab are out-of-service (servers down, etc.), Part 2 will become take-home (with additional exercises) and will be due at the beginning of class on Thursday, August 12. |
